This shot is from Tweed’s, Black Friday, 2012. Can you name any of these people?

The Black Friday Club
We welcomed some new members to the BFC in 2013. Paul Hendrickson made the trip down from Gloucester. We had a lively debate about the exact location of the Coach and Six, which included a sketch on a napkin. Does anyone have photos of that part of the neighborhood? In the end, it appeared not everyone was convinced that the restaurant was located back near the street that connected W. Boylston St. and W. Boylston Drive. There seems to have been a Mobil station nearby. Some were more convinced of all this than others. It was fun listening to the variations on memories of decades old Worcester geography.
The one thing that stands out after 5 or 6 years of meeting old friends for lunch on Black Friday is that we have no shortage of things past, present and future to talk about. Put it on your calendar for 2014.
I will, found this site today so just a bit late!
I just discovered the only pictures a Google Images search turns up of W. Boylston Street School are pictures from this site.
I found 2 class pictures. Amazingly, a few of the people in these photos are still very close friends.
Anyone remember 1963?
And at least 4 of the kids in those pictures are also in the pictures from the Black Friday Club.
undoubtedly some old bonds don’t ever let go… at least three or four of the guys in these class pictures are still my closest friends.how many people can say their immediate circle of friends goes back over 50 years, and how many of todays youth will be able to make that claim. we’d love to see some of the rest of you guys, come on down the next time, what have you got to lose?
for those of you who aren’t sure, in the black friday picture, l-r standing is bob newell, dave newell, leslie munns, harry munns, deb cochran, who is phil perrons girlfriend, and phil himself. l-r in front is paul hendrickson, scott longvall and lance longvall

Something came up in a “writing promt” today that led me to do a google search to see if I could find anything about Ecky’s Penny Candy Store. I was amazed to find this site. Delight to get connected with people who remember that wonderful penny candy store and West Boylston Street School. I graduated from WBSS in 1962. Had Miss Scheiderman, Miss Quigley, Mrs. Topper, Miss Miner, Mr. Black and Miss Mara and Mr. Durkin. Living in Nashville, TN now. I lived at 106 West Boylston St. with my two brothers and sister. We walked to school and loved it when we could go by way of Ecky’s. Great memories. Thanks for this connection.
Here’s my class photo from kindergarten!

My brother Dan Callahan had this photo of the football team . So if you know him you might know some these WB All Stars .
this is better
Here are some class pictures from my brother Dan Callahan .The years 1960-1966 (5th grade is missing).
We had a meeting of the Black Friday Club at Jillians in November. Unfortunately, I don\’t think anyone took pictures. There were some new faces and some older ones. I believe a good time was had by all.
Oh, my God, do those pictures of our class bring back memories—- Marceline Prifti, Joey Sousa, Patty Moran, Tim Brewer, Michael Mason, Carl Jenket. Harry, are you a redhead? When is the next Black Friday? I might just come. And, yes, you remember me correctly. I ended up as a urologist. Go, figure. This is a picture of me nowadays. Still a geek!
Yeah Stephen, I am a redhead. Now you can probably find every hair color represented somewhere on my head. I think it all averages out to some form of light brown. I wouldn’t say you look like a geek but urologist probably isn’t a stretch.
Here’s what I know about the people you mentioned. Sadly, Joe Sousa and Mike Mason are dead. Joe’s sister Patty has posted to this site. Tim Brewer is a priest. I don’t know anything about the others but I hope someone who knows their status will see this and updates us.
Do plan to come to the Black Friday club. It’s fun regardless of who shows up but more fun when there’s more people. It’s the day after Thanksgiving around lunch time. Check this site for updates on time and place.
Attended the gathering at Jillians last year with wife Judy. Excellent time seeing old friends. Will surely be at Wild Willys on November 25th.
We didn’t get any photos of the 2015 Black Friday Club reunion so we’ve made up for it this year. This system only allows uploading 2 photos per comment so please make references to the photos and post comments with names of people in the photos so people who didn’t attend the event will know who was there. You can click on the smaller photo to enlarge it.

We had some WBSS alumni who graduated in 1947, the earliest year of anyone who has attended this event so far. Get the word out. We want to see as many alumni as possible.
